September "shifts"

Why does everyone lose their mind the first week in September? Is it because of school starting back? The weather hasn’t cooled down so dramatically that we need to step out of our flip flops yet... People can’t really be THAT excited about pumpkin spice lattes can they?

I don’t know what it is, but every year for me (and most people) you feel this “shift” at the beginning of September. I can’t put my finger on what it is (and no.. it’s not “holiday” season yet, don’t try that) but it’s palpable. I’m not sure why, but it’s driven me to write this post and start my blog. Why start a blog now? I don’t think I have any more free time than usual.. if anything life has been busier than ever! With a full teaching schedule at Pure Barre, H & Arrow growing daily and a new puppy (Indy!) I don’t have really any time to spare..but I want to make the time. I feel this deep draw towards starting up my blog today, right now.

I want to be able to look back on these posts and think “wow, I forgot about that!” or “wow, I was clueless back then” and probably "why did I wear that outfit?”. Many of my blog posts will be about health and fitness, because that is my career and my passion! But not all.. I want it to be about healthy living, and my life as a fitness professional Everyone in the fitness industry would tell you that being “healthy” requires desserts, sleeping in when you can, and lots of activities outside of a gym. It’s my life, and I want to share it with you! If I can inspire you to go exercise today, or think more positively about your body.. if I can show you a new healthy restaurant or fun fitness class to try; my blog will serve it’s purpose. I want to start conversations about wellness, and share my journey with you. Here’s to a fresh start! Please comment often and share your thoughts with me.
